Benchmarks on it here. Please remember to include which version of the Kindle Fire you have when asking questions! Reddit for Amazon Fire. Including our favorite, the Samsung 840 EVO. These benchmarks are a bit old, but based on the tests Anandtech did on some OWC drives a year ago, there are a lot of faster SSDs out there. You probably won't notice a difference in the real world. I'd pick the Samsung drives over those they'll be faster in day-to-day use. The ones you linked are SandForce SF-2281-based, I think. OWC drives are generally solid rebadges of other peoples' controllers/NAND. Have you guys tested OWC drives and would I notice any difference with the step up to OWC? But Wirecutter is always recommending the Samsung drives, which cost significantly less. Lots of Mac users swear by OWC SSD drives, and they get fantastic reviews. It's faster, even on N-only devices, and more and more laptops and smartphones have wireless-AC. I'd definitely get an AC router over an N router. Is the Asus ac66 still the best step up router? Will it ever go on sale? Should I save $50 and go with the n66? That's still a great router (I own it), but Dong Ngo at CNet prefers the new RT-AC68U, and Mike Brown prefers the Netgear Nighthawk (but hasn't reviewed the AC68U yet). We're working on updates to our router sections. Drives my girlfriend crazy that I try to only buy your recommendations when possible. Is there another kids tablet that has display mirroring? Or maybe an easy way to get youtube for kids on the TV (there's no proper YouTube Kids app for my Roku streaming device or any of the others).Īnother solution might be a Tablet Mount Holder, the kids tablet having a kid proof case and 2-year worry-free guarant Is it possible to get the older generations of the kids tablets anywhere in the UK? Is there perhaps an app that would let me do display mirroring? I have a Roku streaming device currently, but don't mind buying something else like the Fire TV stick, Chromecast etc. My toddler watches a lot of youtube educational channels so it really needs to work with youtube, which I don't think the " second screen" feature would do. The HD8 Kids Edition does not even have a mini HDMI port. I phoned Amazon customer service but they didn't know if the Fire TV stick would really be of any use, but according to this probably not. It seems Amazon took out the screen mirroring feature a few generations ago and you can not longer buy the older tablets that support it ( HDX 8.9 (4th Generation), Fire HD 8 (5th Generation), and Fire HD 10 (5th Generation)). I really wanted the HD8 Kids Edition for my toddler as it has great parental control features however I need it to work on the big HDMI TV for the sake of his posture. ![]()
